In August of 2011, 30 military service members as well as one military working dog were killed in an operation called Extortion 17. These special operators were lost when their CH-47 Chinook was shot down while in route to reinforce a group of Army Rangers in Afghanistan. Seventeen of the fallen were Navy SEALs and five were NSW support personnel. We salute these brave men and honor their sacrifice as well as the men and women of NSW who serve their country in defense of our freedom. NSWKids is committed to honoring the legacy of our fallen heroes by taking a proactive role in meeting the educational needs of the children of these NSW warriors who have served our country with courage and honor.
We are having a Charity Tournament and Auction on July 12th, 2014 to support the NSWKids.
NSWKids was established to support the educational needs of the children of U.S. Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC), and Naval Special Warfare (NSW) support personnel.
The latest US statistics show, 41% of children have some type of learning disability and one in 88 children are diagnosed with Autism. This is especially stressful on these families when their fathers are gone over 9 months out of the year. NSWKids offers the financial support and resources for these families to be able to receive educational diagnostic testing and tutoring. Additionally, NSWKids provides financial support and resources for NSW families with children who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. This program provides children with empowering opportunities to gain the confidence and leadership that will ensure their future academic success.
